Silk Plaster decorative plasters or liquid wallpaper is a popular material used for interior design and decoration.
This innovative finishing material has excellent performance and characteristics. Decorative plasters are easy to apply, but it is important to strictly follow the instructions of their application.
It is necessary to pay attention to meticulous preparation of walls and surfaces before application. Yellow spots may appear on liquid wallpaper if surfaces were not prepared well. Chemicals or metal oxide may come out of walls after reaction with water if they had metal fittings or other metal structures located close to the surface. After application, decorative plasters pull out moisture from walls when they dry and, as a result, multi-colored (most often yellow) spots may appear. When preparing walls for application, it is important to clean the surfaces from previous finishing materials, to cover surfaces twice with a primer, and to cover metal elements with acrylic paint.
If yellow spots already appeared don’t get upset. We will describe below some simple ways to deal with this problem:
1) You can use a chemical stain remover.
Solid color or multi-color wall finishing
- Prepare a stain remover solution by mixing a chlorine-free stain remover (colors may fade If you use a chlorine stain remover) with water in proportion 1:1 or 1:2.
- Spray some clean water over the spot and without letting it dry spray the prepared stain remover solution.
*you can also use a building dryer or fan to dry the surfaces faster and more effective.
Solid white or light color wall finishing
- You don’t need to prepare a solution.
- Spray the area of the stain with water and without letting it dry with stain remover without mixing it with water.
- You may also use a chlorine stain remover.
*you can also use a building dryer or fan to dry the surfaces faster and more effective.
2) You can apply a fresh layer of wall finishing if the surface was newly renovated.
- Mix a new portion of liquid wallpaper according to the instruction.
- Apply the mixture to the yellow spotsmooth the edges of the area and dry it with a building dryer or fan.
